Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
This area of need encompasses Mental Health conditions, such as Anxiety or Depression. It also includes specific neurodivergent conditions, such as Attention Deficit Hyper-activity Disorder (ADHD) or Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).
If your child is experiencing anxiety or depression, to the point of impact on their everyday life, please do come and speak to us here at school, or we would urge you to visit your GP. Dependent on the severity of the impact, we may be able to make a referral to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service).
Your child may already be receiving support or treatment from the Community Paediatricans at Weston Area Health Trust. If this is the case they may already have an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnosis or be attending regular appointments. If you have concerns about your child with regards to potential ADHD, please get in touch with the SENDCo, Mrs Abby Murray. Further information about the disorder can be found on the NHS website link below.
