Mental Health and Wellbeing

“Happiness can always be found, even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.”

~ Albus Dumbledore ~

At the Whiteoak Academies we want to support our families in whatever way we can.  To help us do this, we have two Senior Mental Health Leads who have both completed an accredited training course:

Mrs Rachel McClive ~ Year 3 Class Teacher, Pupil Premium Lead and Nurture Champion

Miss Caitlin Wring ~ Year 5 Class Teacher

Both Mrs McClive and Miss Wring work very closely with Mrs Abby Murray, our SENCO and Miss Wood our Pastoral Lead.

WELLBEING WARRIORS

Wellbeing Warriors from each class promote kind behaviour and support other children throughout our school. They meet every month to learn about how to enhance mental wellbeing and use these new skills to make our school a happy and safe place to be! Wellbeing Warriors are visible on the playground by the green lanyards they wear, representing the colour of mental health awareness. Wellbeing Warriors spread kindness and positivity, run assemblies to promote our school vaues and are responsible for our classroom kindness buckets! (Buckets that are filled with kind deeds and actions witnessed by all pupils throughout the school day and celebrated in assembly time.) They are an important and uplifting part of our nurturing school culture.

One of the concerns you may have, could be about your children's (or your own) mental health and general well-being. On this page we will aim to bring together various advice, information and strategies to help you.

Please contact the school if there is anything you particularly want advice on.
